Dear Attorneys,

My ex-wife was supposed to return my daughter to me at 5pm on Christmas Day. She didn’t get here until almost 7pm, and it messed up plans that I had. That’s not fair! Should I bring her back to court?

Sincerely,

Timely Tom

Dear Tom,

It is always frustrating when your co-parent does not follow the planned schedule. However, for something like this, it is probably not worth your time or money to bring her back to court (unless this is a continued problem). However, you should let her know how it affected your plans, and that you don’t want it to happen again. You may even want to consider reaching out to a co-parenting counselor to help you get ahead of these issues in the future.
