Danbury, CT — May 1, 2026 — The Greater Danbury Bar Association (GDBA) has announced the nomination of Attorney Rachael M. Levine for the 2026 Law Day Pro Bono Award, recognizing her outstanding commitment to providing volunteer legal services to underserved members of the community.
The Pro Bono Award honors a local attorney or judge who has enhanced the human dignity of others by improving or delivering legal services to individuals who might otherwise lack access to representation. Attorney Levine’s nomination reflects her sustained dedication to this mission through her pro bono work and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations.
The recipient of the award is selected by a vote, following an open nomination process within the legal and broader community. Nominees are evaluated based on the impact, consistency, and significance of their pro bono contributions.
Attorney Levine has distinguished herself through meaningful volunteer efforts that expand access to justice. Her work has included representing numerous individual clients without charge, supporting community legal initiatives such as the Connecticut Legal Rights Project representing clients in need of restraining orders on a pro bono basis, and contributing time and her extensive skill set to causes that serve low-income and disadvantaged individuals. Attorney Levine serves on the Statewide Advisory Committee for the Department of Children and Families, is a member of the Regional Advisory Committee for Region 5 of the Department of Children and Families, is Vice Chair of the Child Welfare Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, is a board member for the Annie C. Courtney Foundation, and was recently appointed to the Working Group to Review the Delivery of Legal Services to Children in Child Protection Proceedings. Her efforts exemplify the spirit of pro bono service and the core values recognized by this award.
Attorney Levine is currently a Senior Associate at Wolf & Shore Law Group based in West Haven, Connecticut, where she continues her commitment to client advocacy.
The award will be presented on May 1, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Greater Danbury Bar Association’s annual Law Day ceremony at the Superior Court in Danbury, Connecticut. The annual Law Day Luncheon will follow from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Cafe on the Green in Danbury.
